International investors who incorporate a company in Thailand have a limited range of options available to them when seeking corporate finance, especially when compared to Hong Kong or Singapore. The following is an overview of funding options available to entrepreneurs who start a company in Thailand:

The Thailand Board of Investments (BOI) have established Investment Privilege Zones, grouped together in provinces to encourage companies to set up in certain areas of the country. Depending on the zone classification, companies can enjoy tax reductions and exemptions. This has been done in hope to detract manufacturing away from the Bangkok region.

A company must maintain an office in Thai premises that it physically owns or rents.

Generally, there is no minimum capital requirement for Thai majority-owned companies. Foreign majority-owned companies are required to have at least 2 million Baht or 3 million Baht, depending on the type of business being incorporated. The capital of the company must be divided into shares, each with an equal value of at least 5 Baht. Alien employment laws require at least 2 million Baht registered capital per single work permit.
